Greetings from IMAGING USA

Back from 6 days hanging out with the top photographers from around the US - and around the world! Some amazing work being put out by such artists as Larry Peters, Brain Killian, Fong, Woods, Puc . . . my mind is spinning with the such access to so many masters.

Finding myself humbled by the talent around me, I spent a couple hours doing something completely arcane - a few 360 panoramas of the event and its environs, something that mimics the broad scope and wonder of the Imaging USA event. Enjoy.

Cool pans. I'd say your photography holds up pretty well to the best stuff I see these days. I bet these wide angle pans should spark some interest from other attendees. BTW, what lens/camera did you use for the individual pan frames?

Thanks Jim. The images were obtained using a Canon EOS 1D MKII and a Sigma 8mm circular fisheye lens. The pans where acquired using a Kaidan panovision VR head mounted on a Giotto MT8180 carbon fiber tripod - all of which weighed about 25 pounds that I lugged around for two days straight. Boy my back and feet hurt!

I had a feeling it was your 8mm lens. 25 pounds, eh? Doesn't that 1D MkII weigh about 25 pounds? :-)

BTW, last night, it was so clear around sunset that I was able to see the LBT naked eye. 113 miles away. They had the building turned just right too, so it was reflecting the sunlight back towards me.

Freakin Awesome...way too cool! I wanna put the shot of Erin & I on my blog. Is that ok? You so need to sell these to PPA for next years promotional stuff or as a 'wrap up' of IMAGING USA PHOENIX. I want you to do 360's of our house when it's complete or in the different remodel stages :)
