La Silla

La Silla, in spanish means "The Saddle" (or so Dave R. told me). I spent a few minutes in the saddle between the 3.6 meter and the NTT. There resides the SEST (Spanish-ESO Submillimeter Telescope). Here are a couple shots . . .

Dave Rabinowitz poses in front of the SEST for me.

My old friend Dave Rabinowitz looks like he's being tidally stretched into that submillimeter telescope. The joys of a wide angle lens!
