Islands in the Sky
M31, M32 and M110 - the Andromeda galaxy. Shot last night at Kitt Peak using a Takahashi E160 and Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera. Total exposure time was 100 minutes.
Just read that the Andromeda Galaxy will collide with the Milky Way. It will apparently happen about 6 billion years from now. I've marked the date on my calendar. Right after "Escape from raging red giant Sun."

Stunning. Makes me want to move to Tucson just for the view of the heavens there.
