Two Cresents

This morning the Moon occulted Venus. I observed the event from Kitt Peak National Observatory. The weather was quite poor - clouds, haze, wind and poor seeing but managed to get a couple of images through a Canon EOS 1D Mark II attached to a Questar 3.5 telescope.

Beauty and Talent

This weekend I had an opportunity to photograph a beautiful and talented Harpist from the University of Arizona. Here are a couple of images from that session.

Specola Vaticana

This year is the International Year of Astronomy. On April 3rd observatories around the world will participate in live webcasts of their operations. I was tasked with producing a short 2 minute intro video for the VATT (Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope - Specola Vaticana) to be played just prior to the astronomers live braodcast from that facility. Here is a rather low resolution version of the video. Enjoy.

I don't do Weddings.

Anybody who knows me as a photographer knows I don't do weddings. I used to do weddings. But after two years I learned that they are a LOT of work, a LOT of stress (for all involved) and there is a LOT of competition. I avoid them at all costs.

So - just to be clear - if you ask me if I do weddings - the answer is an emphatic NO!!! I DON'T DO WEDDINGS!

So yesterday I shot a wedding. I shot a wedding for a beautiful couple, at a beautiful venue - just to remind myself - again - that I DON'T DO WEDDINGS!

By the way - Congratulations to Jessica and Sal. :-)
